Memorable, crazy movie

I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek are without a doubt the best kissers. Rather odd to start a review of a western with a competition in kissing, but that is just an example of what makes "Bandidas" so charming and funny. This female western follows the storyline of any regualar western but adds some very witty (and hot) feminine twists and turns."Bandidas" is a playful charming story about 2 daughters who lose their fathers because of a killing spree by a group of outlaws. To get revenge the 2 daughters join forces and decide to rob the banks that the outlaws have stolen from the mexican people. Will the 2 female bandidas succeed in robbing all the money back from the bandits who murdered their fathers?Suited for 9 years and older it is still a good western that can be enjoyed by adults as well. It is a fast story, with many smart and very witty robberies of banks. It is photographed splendidly. There is even a Matrix like scene, in which bullets fly through the air in slow motion. Real attention to detail and that makes sense because this picture is written and produced by Luc Besson who also produced "The Transporter" and "Taken" series, so the man knows HOW TO make a good action movie. Add some great female comedy actors and you have got "Bandidas". Supporting actors by Dwight Yoakam, Steve Zahn and Sam Shepard are great too. All in all a really lovely, very funny original parody on westerns.

Some people rate movies as if all movies were made to win the best picture of the year. Apparently they don't think movies can be made just to be fun and entertaining. This is one of those movies. OK, there are goofs. OK the plot is pretty simple. But there are tons of great sight gags, fun special effects, great dialog, and a couple of "supper smart" horses that make this a really fun shows. I always like to read the reviews by people who "hated" the movie and rated it 1 or 2. Sad they can't just watch sit back and enjoy movies like other people. Bandidas is just a funny movie. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

Maria and Sara a two very different girls with two very different backgrounds and social positions. At first, their relationship is only based on insults and bad remarks but soon, they will have to put their differences aside and fight for the same noble cause. Their town is invaded by an American bank owner who wants to build a railroad across Mexico so he disowns or kills any person who stands in his way. Thus, by joining forces and threatening him by robbing his own banks, they might just be able to do something for their people.It is a western movie which desperately tries and succeeds in not being serious at any given time. It tries to tell a simplistic story in a funny way, making full use of its two famous and beautiful main female actors. Most of the time, it is enjoyable and even amusing but it keeps repeating a couple of clichés, making it even boring at times. Its finale is as simple and as expected as it gets but it is in tone with the rest of the film. Judging it by its purpose, it is a movie you can enjoy if you're looking for something casual and potentially laughable at, but nothing more.

I found Bandidas as a mediocre and predictable film but,inside its limitations,it entertained me.This is a generic action movie shaken with comedy and romance and there's nothing special about it.This is a film with very limited ambitions but,at least,it's entertaining.Penélope Cruz is a good actress,and she brought an entertaining performance on this movie.The great Steve Zahn brings the best performance from this movie while Sam Shepard shows credibility on his role.I really do not have much to say about this movie.If you wanna see a light entertainment without too many ambitions,watch this movie.Rating: 6
