The Man Who Invented Christmas
November. 22,2017 PGIn 1843, despite the fact that Dickens is a successful writer, the failure of his latest book puts his career at a crossroads, until the moment when, struggling with inspiration and confronting reality with his childhood memories, a new character is born in the depths of his troubled mind; an old, lonely, embittered man, so vivid, so human, that a whole world grows around him, a story so inspiring that changed the meaning of Christmas forever.

It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
The journey that led to Charles Dickens' creation of "A Christmas Carol," a timeless tale that would redefine Christmas. Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer are two very likable and talented actors for sure but 'The Man Who Invented Christmas' was missing the Christmas spirit quite alot and unfortunately it's well known actors couldn't save it from falling apart. The storyline was interesting but the execution wasn't that good tho and the acting although good the characters were missing something as a whole for sure and it was quite disappointing. (3/10)
Based on the book "The Man WHo Invented Christmas" this film explores the time Charles Dickens was having. HAving just come off three bombs he is not only in desperate need of hit he also running out money. This fear he has of losing everything drives him into creating the "Most Beloved Christmas Story" of all time "A Christmas Carol".Now this film shows us where he might of got his ideas from and it does so entainingly. Since most of us now how the story will end its still a surprise to see all the craziness Charles Dickens had in his life but was able to create a masterpiece that is still popular today 175 years after it was first published!
This film does for Dickens what no other film has ever done. It gives insight into his masterpiece A Christmas Carol. Not that insight is needed, but it is much appreciated notwithstanding. There are similar elements of the ridiculous film Pandaemonium here (over-excitedness and hyper-emotion), which is why I only give it a 9/10. Still, this film is a delight for the whole family, even if the aged waiter in the public house vulgarly (and comically) wrestles with a wine bottle held between his legs until the cork pops.
This film will delight you. See it with family and friends. Without a second thought. Nothing is wrong about it.
