Welcome to Sin City. This town beckons to the tough, the corrupt, the brokenhearted. Some call it dark… Hard-boiled. Then there are those who call it home — Crooked cops, sexy dames, desperate vigilantes. Some are seeking revenge, others lust after redemption, and then there are those hoping for a little of both. A universe of unlikely and reluctant heroes still trying to do the right thing in a city that refuses to care.

Absolutely brilliant
Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Long time noir genre and Frank Miller fan and this one really doesn't disappoint!
Brilliantly uses black and white, with hints of color to highlight certain aspects, much like the graphic novels it's based on. It's a neo-noir film with (not quite)superheroes.. in fact even heroes might be exaggerating, since there are no "Knights in shining armor" in this. There are however badass anti-heroes and a lot of sexy dames. This movie is ultra stylish, so even the most brutal acts of violence are beautiful to watch. It's probably the closest to a comic book literally coming to life on screen we're ever gonna get!
While I don't think it's as good as the second one, I'm glad I saw it a second time. I'll be the first to admit that I changed my opinion on this, and while I'd still like to read the comics as opposed to see this again, it is a fun sit. A few minor gripes here and there, like I think Clive Owen is miscast, and "The Big, Fat Kill" segment is the weakest of the three stories, but Rourke is great, and Willis is good. It's not as action focused as the second one, and relies more on narration, but it's an easy sit. A good example of how giving something a second watch can do wonders.
This movie enters in the typical description of "style over substance". But what a style! the story is nothing over the top, but anyway, visually speaking its outstanding, specially if you consider that it was done in 2005, more than 10 years ago. Yeah, it have it's flaws and its very predictable but I think overall it is an acceptable film.
