Very disappointing...
One of my all time favorites.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Let's put this as simply as possible: this movie is the much-needed mainstream version of the novel. While Tim Curry's portrayal of the dancing clown had us cheering for IT to win, this version gives you a lovable gang of kids who steal the show. No disrespect to Bill Skarsgard, but he is, after all, playing the villain. It takes an INCREDIBLY powerful performance to sway the audience into supporting such an evil being, and he fell short of that mark, albeit mostly because of the great kids. Nice scares, good story.
IT isn't as scary as you thought it would be. I thought that the kids themselves were funnier than the movie itself being scary
How this won awards I do t know. It's slow paced (partly as probably the producers want to squeeze out a sequel). The original actors were far better, particularly when looking at the new bill and the new clown, the pair of them can't act, they sound like they are just reading off a script that they aren't even convinced by. The film has no enthusiasm, the jumpy scenes take the "jump" out of the word "jumpy". No wonder the only actor I recognise is the boy who ended up in stranger things.
It, has become one of the most popular horror movies of all time and it was good but didn't reach the hype who create.Everyone loves remakes so the box office reach an amount over half billion. The creators of the film did good job and the screenplay was fine but it wasn't scary enough and some scenes wasn't needed.
