I saw the movie Hop the first time on October 5, 2014. Must really say that the movie was totally entertaining. The film has soft and cute characters like E.B. I like furry animals in movies like Alvin And The Chipmunks and similar movies. It's that in fantasy the world in movies, animals can talk. And some people get very confused about what's going on in the film with people and animals with fur in the background. And about CGI. Amazing work! The film is very good with CGI effects that coat on all Easter bunny and chickens. The characters were very funny. Some are very upset about Carlos playing Mexican. I think Carlos was a bit exaggerated but worked. They could have cut away the scene with everything sung with the song "I Want Candy". Got a little cringe there. Must say that Hop is one of my favorite movies with live action. But it's a bit boring with all the poop jokes and at the end was a bit boring. Feels like the movie studio just wanted to finish, so they just brushed some mixed scenes. But the movie can be a little hard to sit still at. I think the movie Hop should get a sequel to the same good movie team behind. However, the film may be best for 13 year old's with adult companies. I always get into the head that the movie was created in 2011 for some reason. I bought the movie on DVD on February 3, 2016. The movie gets 10/10 for the best live action film. Alex Kvist

Even though I thought Hop as a movie was pretty average, the animation is superb (especially watching on Blu-Ray) and the combination between live action & animation is done really well.I usually cannot stand Russell Brand either, but I must admit that he was really good as the voice for E.B. A few other characters including Hank Azaria as the voice for Carlos were pretty well done also, and one of the much more enjoyable scenes was when Fred O'Hare pretends to be a ventriloquist with E.B. while singing I Want Candy.Unfortunately, though, I thought the humour was slightly lacking overall, but if you have young kids and you enjoy movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Stuart Little and Alvin And The Chipmunks then I'm sure Hop will be a hit.

I guess I will never eat Jelly Beans after watching this movie, and you would probably do the same after watching an Easter Bunny take a dump on screen. Yes, this is Hop. The kid's movie with poop jokes, playboy bunnies, and a bunny wanting to mate with a human. Honestly, why are these questionable crude humor jokes in here? They have a brand marketing pornography company, scat, and bestiality humor in a children's movie! This is a kid's movie, not a stand up special. I have to give the movie some credit, as there isn't a lot of Easter's movies out there, and it as less gave it a try. Still, the movie's plot wasn't that well form out, and kinda dumb. I'm just mad because it could have been better. The movie opening pretty much sums up the movie so you don't really have to watch it. No really, it's explains the history of the Easter Bunny and why the newest one is different from them all. The movie spoils the ending in the first couple of minutes in the film, so the audience is only left with the question; how did this happen? E.B (Russell Brand) is the Easter Bunny's son (Hugh Laurie) who doesn't want to be the new Easter Bunny after his father retires, so he runaway to Hollywood, determined to a rock and roll star. It was here that he meets Fred O'Hare (James Marsden) when Fred hit E.B with his car. Fred is a young man who can't seem to find a job that he's passionate about. More like, he's a slacker who can't seem to find any job at all. In my opinion, I think James Marsden as a slacker seems to be a miscast. I can't see him in any role like that. He doesn't even look like a slacker. In the film, he is pretty well dress, unshaven, and in great shape. I think the movie should have at less, gave him a job that he has, but didn't like. It's more realism than him not working at all. Well, E.B callously and selfishly ruining Fred's life throughout the film with big messes as its bypass as slapstick humor. While Fred and the rabbit become unlikely roommates in a borrowed mansion, at the Easter Bunny's factory hidden deep inside the mouth of a Moai statue on Easter Island is Carlos the Chick (Hank Azaria). I was kinda disappointed by Hank here, as he doesn't give anything new to the role and wasn't funny at all. Carlos wants to take over the factory after being pass over for the job of the Easter Bunny and sees E.B disappearing as a way to gain access. The movie got controversy because some people views Hop depicts Hispanics as deluded and dangerous. Throughout the film, Carlos speaks in broken English with a strong mock-Spanish dialect. Consequently, the film reinforces the belief that Mexicans who speak English with a thick accent are somehow stupid, unqualified, or a joke. I can see that, but I really don't think Carlos was create just for something like that. He's just a silly character with a voice that Hank choice for him. He could have a Scottish voice and still seem like a negative portrayal. So not only does E.B leaving cause chaos in his wake on Easter Island, but its brings a lot of trouble in the human world as well. The premise of the story is a lot like director Tim Hill's earlier Alvin and the Chipmunks films, a man without direction finds his purpose through an unlikely relationship with a cute talking animal and like that movie, the lack of wit or real humor made this movie a real chore to sit through. The movie tries too hard to live up to Christmas movies, by stealing or having similar things to Christmas movie to get kids more into the film. Why on earth did they give the Easter Bunny, a magic sled, if they have a magic hole in the ground that can take them anywhere in the world that works better? It doesn't make any sense. It's doesn't have to make any sense, it's a kid movie. Don't ask the movie to have depth, or meaning. Still, the movie has some pretty good cameos such as David Hassellhoff, Kaley Cuoco, Gary Cole, Chelsea Handler and yes, even Russell Brand yet again as a different character. The movie isn't going to hurt your kids, so it's watchable. The animated/live-action hybrid film genre's movie is probably going to continue, and 'Hop' will join the films likes such as The Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks as really bad movies, but makes a million dollars anyways because it's just something to babysit your children with. Honestly, this movie should be a last resort as a family event for Easter. It's healthier for them to do outdoor activities with their parents than watch this movie in my opinion.

Unless you are a little kid or have the IQ of one you probably wont find this to be that great of movie. The story is silly, the comedy is lacking, the scenes aren't fulfilling and rather goofy. I think this great for kids as most kids wont realize how bad this is. I did watch the whole movie though and I did rather enjoy the little evil chicken. Also the fact that no one seemed surprised to see a talking rabbit was a little weird too. It seems like it is just another chipmunk type movie, kids love it, some adults will like it and hardly anyone will watch it a second time. I would expect the creators of despicable me to do a little better. There is the argument that this is a kids movie and yes that is true but why can't a kids movie be as equally enjoyable to adults like with Rango, Shrek, Despicable Me and so on?
