best movie i've ever seen.

it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.

this is a simple and sweet movie for parents and children to watch together and have some fun!not too much can be said about this movie outside of the fact that eddie murphy is always funny and using his body as a 'spaceship' was genius. the space ship crew is full of wacky characters that must learn 'earth ways' quickly to achieve their mission. and in that the story unfolds into many laughs. nothing ugly or obscene happens here. just lots of visual gags and plenty of dumb laughs.and the ends offers a real message all children and adults need to hear more often. so give this funny but dumb movie a try! and i bet once you watch it you won't forget it!!

I don't know why this show was bashed so much. You can't go into every movie with the expectation that its going to win an Oscar or an Academy award. This is a fun movie that is great for the whole family. With ages 39y down to 4y and all ages in between it was enjoyed by all in our family.A rigid "alien" ship (in the form of Eddi Murphy) full of little people, comes to earth looking for an orb that missed it's target, our oceans. The orb is to collect earths ocean waters for the salt to save their own planet. But things change during their mission and they not only locate the orb but find more then they ever expected.So if your looking for a fun show for the whole family then give this a try. If your expecting an Academy award winner then you should probably pass. But then again...maybe this is just the show you need.

OK I don't know why this movie has so many neg reviews! I laughed so many times ... great comedy! Brings me back to see Eddy back like this! It's a bit cheesy... but I definitely laughed a lot! Ultimately I felt it was 2hrs well spent! When "Dave" deals with the bully I laughed ... Marc Blucas was only in it for a few shots but dang he is hot brings me back to the later seasons of Buffy the vampire slayer when he played her boyfriend ... Pat Kilbane plays #4 and well he is hilarious later in the movie but don't want 2 spoil anything! Austyn Myers is cute kid in the movie. Take the 2hrs 2 watch it you wont regret it. It's amusing to see the "Dave ship" awkwardly attempting to mimic human behavior. Great family movie. Enjoy.

A friend once said to me, of "Death to Smoochy", "It's not a great movie, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying it." The same can be said of "Meet Dave". It's not an extraordinary, timeless work of art, but it is undeniably enjoyable. And, occasionally, it might actually touch your heart.And, at long last, I feel like I've once again gotten a taste of the Eddie Murphy I came to know and love from when he first plied his wares on Saturday Night Live.In a nutshell, it's a boffo sci-fi comedy, with a lot of the usual premise and plot elements. It's a kind of over-the-top, glitzy, "Brother from Another Planet," and it refuses to take itself seriously.There are certainly better flicks out there, but I honestly don't feel inclined to steer you away from this one. Check it out.
