Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
The film suffers from way too many plot flaws and repetitive dialogue. I mean honestly, how many times must they say "stay in the light"?? The film has some great visuals, though. Apart from the forced scares thanks to cats and music, the film offers very few thrills and chills. There are better films of the same genre out there.
The plot of this movie immediately caught my attention. Sadly the execution of Darkness Falls had some major flaws that ruined most of the film for me. While the opening scene and first encounter with the dark entity was interesting and unnerving. Further scenes failed to be scary at all. Also I found the monster's looks dull and ridiculous.Acting was meh, atmosphere was meh, everything was meh.
I began to get suspicious that the actors in this movie were trying on an America accent and guess what? Yes its almost 90% Australian actors. Not a great movie but enough to give you the willies. As far as horror movies goes it certainly does the right thing in giving you a good scare. Worth a watch if not just for the comedic fake accents. The theme of the movie is based on a woman being burned at the stake like a common witch. That being the wrong move as she had not done a thing to deserve it. So on her dying wish she promises to curse the town and take every child when they lose their last baby tooth. Stay in the light. Well at least carry a torch.
I don't know why they have to keep pumping these kind of horror films out. The kind that use nothing but jump scares to try to scare the viewer. I never get scared by jump scenes so I was very unimpressed. The acting was bad, the story line silly and ridiculous. And like I said of course it was not scary in the slightest. This movie is about a town that is apparently haunted by a ghost known as the tooth fairy. When you lose a tooth the tooth fairy comes into your room for it. Unlike the childs tale though this ghost takes your tooth but if you wake up during the process and look at her she kills you. This movie follows a young man who was a victim of the tooth fairy when he was young but survived by turning on the lights. As you can see by my description I don't really like this movie. I only recommend this movie to little kids because if your an adult this movie will just annoy you most likely
