Sorry, this movie sucks
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
The movie really just wants to entertain people.
This movie dragged on and on through many scenes that promised something exciting and interesting, but finally came to a climax that made no sense.
Paranormal Activity 2 (2010): Dir: Tod Williams / Cast: Sprague Greyden, Brian Bolden, Molly Ephraim, Katie Featherstone, Micah Slout: Worthwhile sequel that displays the same low budget technical intelligence as the original only adding a few new characters to the mix. Taking place prior to the first film, here a family moves in to a big house and have security camera installed after their home is ransacked but nothing stolen. This is all brought together by New director Tod Williams who heightens the suspense gradually as each night grows creepier through the camera. This is effective and works for independent film work without the use of computer graphics. While the first film was no gem, it was an effective breakthrough for fright fans. This sequel is more of the same and it has effective scare moments but it also deals with people who aren't thinking logically. Among the residence are Sprague Greyden and Brian Bolden with their baby Hunter and step-daughter, played by Molly Ephraim. Greyden and Ephrain already feel a presence that isn't right, and Bolden seems to find some sort of logic to conceal any concerns. Katie Featherstone returns as Greyden's sister who urges that any paranormal discussion be ceased. Featherstone is remembered as the female lead of the first film who is also haunted. Micah Slout is more prominently featured in the first film, but here in the prequel he is a reminder of what the future will hold. It seems to contain a better screenplay yet lacking the freshness of the original film, which took independent films to new lows. Score: 6 / 10
It's not as good as Paranormal Activity 1 but still a good movie, with great story and likable characters. I loved that Katie returned, because she is one of my favorite characters in this franchise. In this film we have a new family and more video cameras, which must means more activity. But no. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie but sometimes was quite boring. I liked the jump-scares(Kristi in the kitchen and the ending-Kristi's death) and how the story develops. In conclusion, the film definitely worth seeing, if you are a big fan of the series.
I am a big, big movies fan. Especially horror movies. I go to the movie theaters very often if not every weekend. I watch them on TV and all, and I am guess lately -- like in the last 10 years -- you could easily say over 80% of the movies produced are pitiful. It is hard to imagine that somebody really went through all the channels: writing a script, pitch to some show-off a-hole agent who will, in turn lick boots until some Hollywood hot shot who like to be treated like a god decides to take the project on 10%-905 profit sharing basis, you know you're the one with the 10% profit deal. And in the end find someone to produce it. and here is PA-2! A disgrace to horror movies fans! A movie I felt asleep and put my DVR to work and I fast-forwarded it like 7 times. I guess I watched 30 minutes. Franchise is the new name for second tier sequels. Good luck. If you have nothing more interesting to do, nothing at all, if it is snowing outside and you have absolutely no book, video game or a pet to spend your time, it is OK. Other than that, it might help you sleep better.
