Nothing is as it seems in this riveting World War 2 thriller as a wary soldier goes to investigate a mysterious German monarch at his secluded mansion, leading him into a web of deceit and a dangerous love affair with a local Jewish woman.

Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Sadly Over-hyped
Memorable, crazy movie
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
"Take off your clothes"Really that's an opening line to the woman you have just met. And she does!! One of the more entertaining parts of this silly film. There is a plot in here somewhere - several really the kaiser's wife believes he will be re-instated in Hitler's Germanythe love between the kaiser's Nazi-German guardian and the Kaiser's maidthe resistance plot which I never quite understoodThe script is feeble and inane. The acting atrocious. It's all very laughable. I really thought something with Christopher Plummer would be better than this dribble.
Every time I read twists and turns I am usually skeptical but I couldn't dismiss Christopher Plummer. He never disappoints and neither did this movie. Very good. Amazing talent portrayed by all of the main characters. Highly recommend.
We all know they are a lot of movies about world war II, but luckily this approach it's not much exploted yet, so it's not the common storyline that we're used to it. The movie it's interesting from the beginning to its end with very good performances.
Great story line, casting, acting, directing, cinematography. However for the Kaiser, the part is played as a dapper, charming man who likes to feed ducks, by the superb Christopher Plummer, rather than as the actual narcissistic, bellicose, disruptive monster who was the real Kaiser Wilhelm (if you've read any history at all). The agent is played engagingly, but somewhat unrealistically (esp. the when she naively and unnecessarily volunteers, to an SS officer, the fact that she's Jewish). But all of the characters portrayed are well done. McTeer stands out. As does the actor playing Himmler.
