Did you people see the same film I saw?
I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
I expected more from Amitabh's movie. It was great to watch Amitabh and Dhanush. However other characters were not visible enough to be judged. There were a few odd points I found.1] The technology shown was odd but great, but it can be taken for granted as it is just fantasizing the idea. Dhanush was able to speak what Amitabh was speaking. But this effort takes lip sync, and air movements from lungs, which cannot be expected of a microprocessor chip. Although, I should not comment on this technology, but I saw this as far fetched idea.2] Hero Dhanush was buried ??? It sounds odd with Hindu name.3] He was buried at the same place what was reserved for Amitabh. If the place was reserved, why he was buried at that place without Amitabh's permission. However, I saw a great humor in the movie, which was a fun to watch.
How could No.1 and inspiring FilmMakers of India could accept a song like "pidli Si beaten". Though internally Bollywood might have those minds.. It is totally unacceptable from "Vijay Dinanath Chauhan" or "Raja Fans" or "Rajni Fans" or "Kamal Fans". F****r Balki made it??? Whoever made it accepted.. I completely hate and discourage their future endeavors. It's embarrassing to make me a proud advertiser of Indian Cinema. Raja Sir, Dhanush, Amitabh and Akshara accomplished their job very well. Very disappointment from the song "Pidli Si Baten".. how come a person came up with lavatory idea.. That's disgusting for an Indian movie.. It's degrading idea for any director. Doesn't he have any mind to even think about it??? F*****g inspirational he thinks??? What about lead roles decision on this??? How could you face the audience..?? With coffee cup made of "Pidli Si beaten" cup???? F*** U!!!!!!
Positives1. Amitabh and too some extent Dhanush's acting. 2. An excellent first half. 3. Dialogues were witty and powerful. 4. Good BG score. 5. Love-hate relationship between the two main protagonists. 6. The sophisticated humour in the first half.Negatives1. AKSHARA HASSAN: the girl can NOT act.2. The lengthy second half was a major letdown. Lots of forced humour and a needlessly stretched ending reduced the momentum of the entire film. The editor could heave done a better job and knocked off around 20 minutes on the whole.Of Balki's three films, this is my least favourite. But, his direction and Amitabh's yet another powerful performance, makes this ode to the Hindi film industry's greatest baritone ever, a definite one time watch.
Don't underestimate this movie as another Bhoothnath flick. The story is good, acting is better and Amitabh Bachchan is the best. This movie made me laugh and enjoy several moments that includes sarcasm and egoistic remarks shared between Dhanush and Amitabh. Some things did fall apart for me like the lessons given by Akshara in a primary school and the chemistry between Dhanush and Akshara. But I guess it's OK as per Bollywood standards. What I liked though, is that the movie also had an important appeal with it which makes us think about people who work behind the scenes and never get the recognition. The fact that you will see the names of the corresponding valets in the credits at end, establishes this further. It also explains how ego can hurt us all if not controlled at the right time. Some of the sequences were simply excellent and succeeded in sparking the targeted emotions. The theme set for Dhanush as a die-hard movie fan, plays an important role in justifying some of his extreme actions. The child like playfulness, the fun loving personalities and the human bonding is portrayed very well.I also felt that what Dhanush was trying throughout the movie while acting as dumb, Amit Ji pulled off right at the end with much more perfection.
