The Graft
February. 20,2015Inspired by Pirandello’s l’Innesto, THE GRAFT tells a story of sexual violence, love, sexism, and marriage. Laura and Giorgio have been married for 7 years, unable to conceive a child. Away on a seaside painting retreat, Laura is raped and becomes pregnant. Personal dramas conflict between husband and wife, magnifying the question of whether to keep the child.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
