A short comedy about two astronauts about to take off on a vital mission to Mars. As they sit in the cockpit awaiting launch, Major Tom Collins realises his co-pilot Abe is nowhere near as qualified as he should be: he's fumbled his way through training and ended up in the most important seat in the universe. The two grapple with the consequences of taking off anyway, or delaying their crucial mission.
Reviews
I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
