Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Fun. Brutally honest. Three ostensibly straight guys, (one eventually) willing to take the unfamiliar role of a drag queen, and one transgender at that. YEARS after making the awesome, fabulous film "Priscilla", Pearce, Stamp, and Weaving talk about making the film, and how they prepared for it. In addition, we hear from the author, Stephan Elliott, and even the actual guy who had a kid, like Tick in the film. Some behind the scenes stuff, mixed in with the gay history, in australia, and how it connected to the history in cities like san francisco. Ups and downs. Mostly fun and lightweight, they do include the beginning of the HIV/Aids years, and how it affected the community. Directed by Barry and Clarke. Looks like they have done numerous documentaries together. So fun. many thumbs up. Currently showing on Tribeca channel.
