In the spring of 2010, a church lock in at First Baptist Church was organized by Pastor Chris. In the first hour of the lock in, one of the students, Justin, had an unusual “incident” and was “inconsolable.” It was reported that he calmed down and kept to himself for the remainder of the event. Two days after the lock in, Justin reportedly broke down to his parents that he experienced something “evil” at the lock in. He also claimed he captured everything on tape. After watching the footage, the parents met with church leaders to discuss criminal charges they were considering filing against the church for child endangerment, neglect and torture.

The Voyage That Shook The World is a dramatized documentary film commissioned by Creation Ministries International, a Christian Young Earth creationist organization, and produced by Fathom Media, a makeshift "front company" to approach experts like historians featured in the film. One of them, Peter J. Bowler historian of biology, stated that the creationist backing of the film had been concealed when he agreed to take part, he also stated that the editing of his words could give a false impression of his views as well as present a historically distorted portrait of Darwin. All three historians featured in the movie subsequently issued a statement that they had been misrepresented by the film company's selective reconstruction of Darwin's voyage.

You obviously have people reviewing the show with preconceived ideas which they have no intention of changing. With the above noted reviews it goes both ways but I must say I would go so far as to say periphilla possibly didn't even watch the program as he had already made up his mind. It was an interesting documentary, great scenery, worth while seeing. Like all documentaries they have their own spin but I did not find it outlandish by any stretch of the imagination. If you watch this film with an open mind it does get it's point across that

The documentary took pains to be authentic, using re-enactments of events that encouraged the audience to engage with the documentary.A wide range of scientists and historians were interviewed, and the film attempts to be fair and balanced to each opinion about Darwin, presenting both viewpoints. This documentary does not look at the science of Darwin's discoveries, so much as look at what type of influences and events he had in his life, that affected his world view and the way he saw things. The viewer is encouraged to think for themselves about who Darwin really was, rather than how he is often portrayed.Really good 'Make You Think' film.

As we all know, Charles scraped through university with poor results in all subjects except theology. In 1831 this young Anglican Christian clergy Charles Darwin, boarded HMS Beagle on an epic five-year voyage of discovery.2009 marked the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book, 'Origin of Species'. The Voyage that Shook the World retraces Darwin's journey, exploring the places and discoveries crucial to the formulation of his Theory of Evolution.I was stunned by the nature cinematography and the way scholars comments were interwoven to create this fascinating and thought provoking movie.Growing up, I always wondered how Charles Darwin came up with this interesting theory of Evolution. But seeing the world from his eyes is very fascinating.I recommend a copy of this DVD a must have for your home library.
