New Brooklyn to New York via Brooklyn Bridge, No. 2
May. 20,1899“This is a new negative showing the entire trip from Brooklyn to New York, in which the immense towers stand out clear and distinct against the sky. Positively the best picture of the Brooklyn Bridge yet secured.” (Edison film catalog)

It's Difficult NOT To Enjoy This Movie
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
New Brooklyn to New York via Brooklyn Bridge, No. 2 (1899) For this two minute film an Edison cameraman jumped on a train and pretty much started filming. You really do have to wonder if this cameraman was simply returning to the studio after a day's work and decided to start filming and it ended up being released. There's certainly nothing too special to be seen here but it's interesting seeing the old advertising boards as well as the various houses. I think people from Brooklyn would get a kick out of seeing what the neighborhood used to look like. There's not too much entertainment purpose to be had from this film but fans of early cinema will at least find it fascinating.
