A Major Disappointment

Certainly much could be said for this film. There is no doubt it does not tread on any new ground and uses some age old ingredients to create the flick. But that doesn't make it less entertaining. It isn't a perfect film but quite often you have to give credit where credit is due. In this case, this is a low budget film made on a budget of $200,000, had a very small cast (essentially 6 people in the entire film), and was really just trying to entertain fans of the horror genre and it does that. Where perhaps it falls short is that because of the small cast the film isn't as violent as most slasher flicks, in fact, there are few if any victims. The film tries to use sex to hook you in right away to the film which just comes across as silly and tacked on. The setting works perfectly, the typical desert, and old rickety farm type setting with the crazy inhabitants. The film borrows elements from Hostel, Hills Have Eyes etc. But never quite finds its footing the way it could have. I think the film falls victim to the small budget but all this being said it is worth seeing for an entertaining film that just simply might not stick with you for long after it ends.Ann Henson is the young hot lead female in the film. While they try the whole sex angle to get you hooked she actually ends up turning in a pretty bad ass female lead role and kicks some serious butt! Her character does not have a lot of depth so really she is relied on to just carry the story and fight for survival and she does both of that well. Angelica May plays the captured young woman that Henson desperately is trying to save and protect along with herself. The two of them have good chemistry but as mentioned there is little to no depth to their characters, the film is strictly about their survival which works to a certain degree. The rest of the cast make up the killers and inhabitants of the desert castle they are taken to but honestly they don't stand out because they could be anyone or anything. The two girls are the focal point in the film and they do decently enough to entertain.By the looks of things my so-so review is top notch compared to other reviews that hated the film. I do understand where they are coming from but I went into this film with no other expectation than a slight cheesy horror flick to pass an hour and a half and it did that so go in with the right expectations. Director and writer Stephen Goetsch has done a lot of behind the scenes work but this is really his only foray into directing and it shows because it often feels rushed. Go into this with high expectations and you will indeed hate it. So simply heed my warning that an hour after watching this you'll have forgotten all about it. Yes the opening scene is absurd, ridiculous and crude, yes the girl spends the entire film running up when she should run down, and inexplicably 'falls asleep' on a bus being driven by an insane killer...its B-Movie fluff so take it for what it is and big horror fans won't be entirely disappointed. 6/10

This movie is great in the beginning the whole phone scene was hot. SPOILER when she used that phone charger as a dildo was weird but hot. Okay if you didn't think that Frank is the man you should not be able to review anything. Frank takes stuff likes its nothing, he practically is the man. SPOILER Frank f***in takes bullets like a champ and he takes that injection likes is nothing, then he f***in comes back to life after getting hit in the eye and oh it is a funny but great movie. Summary FRANK IS THE SH*T! Besides Frank the girl is hot in the beginning but the other one is ah alright. The thing is you never really understand what the hell is the point of the movie. Still Frank is unbelievable!

alive or dead, horror/thriller: OK this is a B, it was always going to be a B but some B's are better than other B's, i think that's agreed. this was on the better side of the B's but unlike most of the rubbish B's i couldn't find a you tube trailer for it anywhere. i doubt very much you will find this in your video rental shop and if they give this space then they either have a warehouse tucked away in a time/space thing there or need to find a new buyer, fast; but lets not take anything away from the film itself. i borrowed it from a friend and, sure there were i's that weren't dotted and a lot of the t's went without crosses but what the hell do you expect for something you can't even find a trailer for?? the acting was OK in my opinion and everybody did the best with what they had so fair play to the independent film maker, coz he rules. if you see it in your local $ store or £ shop, buy it, it won't be the worst £/$ you've ever spent.

I agree with the other post - "not even worth checking out even if you like B movies". I just watched this movie and I honestly cannot remember ever seeing anything worse. The acting is not only pathetic but so unrealistic to the situation they are in it is unbelievable. Add to that no plot whatsoever and horrible dialouge.....I see this movie has a rating of 2.9 out of 10. That is the worst I have ever seen on IMDb and I can't for the life of me figure out how it is that high. This movie is a one....flat out awful in every department. I looked up the cast to see if anyone had ever worked on anything worth mentioning before...of course the answer was no. After being involved with this disaster I can't imagine anyone attached with this film will have an opportunity to work again.
