I suppose for an independent film, it isn't so bad. The cinematography, blocking, etc. are okay, but the acting is pretty bad. With the exception of Ellen Muth, the rest of the cast couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. Also, there are plot holes aplenty. For example, without giving away much, the original Kipling story dealt with leprosy, which was incurable in Kipling's day. The movie does use it as a plot line, but in reality, leprosy has largely been eliminated in the world since the year 2000.In general, the entire story could have used a bit of workIf you want to see Ellen Muth in something other than "Dead Like Me" as I did, go ahead and watch it, otherwise, you'll probably want to steer clear.
