Left Right Left is a movie that talks about real issues with a frontage of sense, director Arun Kumar Aravind and his actor-scribe Murali Gopi complement each other with some extreme performances in their departments, creating a rarer experience of a movie that really lives up to the hype. Hats off dear , for a brave, sensible movie that is sure to be called a classic political satire.'Left Right Left' pans through the lives of three different characters with different ideologies and live styles. It sketches the making of the political stalwart 'Kaitheri Sahadevan (Hareesh Perady ) , Sub Inspector of police K P Jayan(Indrajith) and Roy Joseph (Murali Gopi) who is a political activist , now left into traumas of hemiplegia. His wife Anitha (Lena) a contract lecturer teaching journalism, takes care of Roy who runs an orphanage and also keep in touch with some of the partymen forced out of the party due to their revolutionary thoughts. S I Jayan, who is nicknamed as 'Vattu' jayan for his brutal take on student strikes, is all after a married Jennifer (Remya Nambeesan) a nurse, whose drug addict husband is currently under de addiction treatment. The lives of all of them gets intertwined as a newspaper scoop unearthing a scandalous bribe of 3.5 crores paid to Sahadevan appear in a local newspaper. The movie with an ordinary storyline, but excels due to its an extraordinary narrative and dialogues from Murali gopi. He uses the best of his expertise and experience that he had as a Journalist before joining movies, to craft some of the well etched scenes which also reveals how the dictatorship can affect even a strong ideology like that of communism . With an impressive tag line 'Revolution is homemade' , the movie rightly answers how our childhood influences and the environment affect our choices, nature and dogmas when we become adults. Also the costumes, mannerisms of the lead actors and their body languages are spellbound, leaving the direction of Arun Kumar a few notches above from his previous ' EAK'.The highlight of the movie is perfect casting with each of the actors giving their heart out to refine their characters. P.K Jayan, the psycho sub-inspector is the best ever role that happened to Indrajith, that had him playing the best of his elements. The sequences of this rough and tough policeman with an impressive past, is sure to be played out in future as the best from the actor. Equally competing with him is Murali Gopi, who is picture perfect in the role of a spirited, paralyzed revolutionary who believe in his ideals imbibed from his father. Harish Perady as Sahadevan is a real find in a life -like role whom we can easily find parallels while Lena as Anitha , a women of strength leads the performances from the ladies. The technical sides are topnotch with another fine cinematography by award winner Shahnad Jaleel. The editing by the director Arun is sharp , though the final flashback sounded a little lagging. Keeping away the allegation of lifting, Gopi Sundar's melodious songs and BGM suits the movie perfectly. The art direction by Ajayan chalisserry is aplomb and the period and geographical settings, fine. On the whole, Left ,Right Left' is a daringly different attempt from the director, which has a sense of sparkle and subtlety , all over it. With proper marketing, the movie is sure to have plenty of takers who love movies of this magnitude of impressions.

This is one political thriller which is enterprising & entertaining at the same time. A tale of inter-woven stories, it talks bout communism & the grave state of politics in Kerala state of India.Having set a path-breaker with Ee Adutha Kalathu last year, the makers have again hit a chord with LRL. The screenplay only goes dull in the middle. The climax & the opening sequences are equally heart-wrenching. Coupled by strong music & amazing cat performance, Lef Right Left is definitely a politics-lover's dream feast with everything from relationships & corruption to Marxism & betrayal in the food plate.BOTTOM LINE: Recommended for people who can take the mysterious depths of politics. And the message is spectacular: MAN IS PART DNA, PART UNKNOWN, & PART WHAT HE SEES & GOES THROUGH AS A CHILD. 7.1 out of 10 for having two major discrepancies in character. Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YESViolence/Gore: Critical | Smoking: Mild | Alcohol: Mediocre | Sex/Foreplay: No | Vulgarity: Mediocre

Nowadays within the flood of the new generation movies, left right left stands apart. Its a good thing that the films made in Malayalam have gone up in standard recently, LRL takes it to the next level. Its very rare when you are totally engaged and glued to the screen for a 2.45 hrs movie. The movie talks about 3 characters who were brought up during the communist revolutionary period before Independence and some after independence in Kerala and what they go through in the present. Yes, there has been movies about this subject in the past like LalSalaam. But LRL can mark its own identity in this genre. The simple but difficult logic in movie making holds good here... the real Hero of a Movie is the script and everything else revolves around it. Murali Gopi has come up with an excellent script; dialogues well written. Director Arun Kumar presented it well. All the actors especially Indrajith and Hareesh Peradi was top notch. There were hardly few unwanted scenes and dialogues in this lengthy movie. The introduction with the LRL anthem takes you right into the mood of the movie. There were claps in the theater just when the titles were shown after the initial anthem. That energy is carried throughout the movie. Gopi Sundar has done a wonderful job with the background score. It adds to the intensity of the dialogues. One of the best movies in Malayalam in recent times, one of the best political movies of all time. There has been controversies and debates on some of the characters/events and how they are related to some real politicians; but if there are controversies thats because there's some truth shown in the movie. There's only one thing to say finally, its a must watch and you will feel like watching again. Finally when you come out of the theater, its pin drop silence. Everyone carries the characters and dialogues of the movie. Hearty congrats to everyone who worked behind this movie.

From the very beginning of this movie, you will realize that this is not yet another one time watches that the movie industry is flooded with. The attempt, without a doubt, is at something bigger and significant. As the movie unfolds, the brilliance of the script, screenplay, dialogues and performances grows on the viewer and leaves a mark. For a person who I hadn't even heard about, Murali Gopy mesmerizes with the script and his performance as the partially disabled, but a determined true Communist, Roy Joseph aka Che Guevara Roy. The LRL Anthem which he has sung also impresses.Indrajit was a perfect choice for an unpredictable character Jayan with emotions reaching crazy heights and a pure, innocent man from within. His role can't be termed as a leading role as there are three characters sharing almost equal importance, and the fact that he is not a star in the industry helps in this respect. As an actor, he's been able to handle even demanding sequences with ease and he perfectly fits into the mould of his character in this movie.Harish Perady as Sahadevan strikes just the right chord and as soon as you see the Sahadevan on the screen, you forget the Perady behind it, which is an achievement for this actor. He delivers when he has to with the body language and dialogues.Remya Nambeesan impresses with her looks and as a strange and selfish character. Lena and the other supporting actors also deserve special mention. The lady who acted as Jayan's mother sweeps you as a lovely, affectionate mother. She brings in lots of fun and emotions with her portrayal of a significant role. All in all, this film is filled with a range of powerful performances.Added to all these, the direction brings the best out of a beautiful script and the strong cast. Full marks to Arun Kumar Aravind. The movie ventures into unexplored territories and deals with the current political set up in Kerala. This has brought some trouble for the movie in a few parts of the state. Nonetheless, this brave attempt at the current political affairs deserves applause. Very few movies have dealt with a sensitive topic such as this. For a movie almost three hours long, there is not a single dull moment, and gives you the feeling of having watched a classic. The last time I felt so was after watching Annayum Rasoolum.
