An intimate depiction of the softer side of university nightlife, Smoke & Stars follows Marta, a recovering alcoholic, as she attends her first party since she started treatment. At her side during the evening is Alex, her playful yet gentle partner, and documenting the night's revels is their friend Michelle, who films the party on her camcorder.

everything you have heard about this movie is true.
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
