Pakhraddin’s Aul migrated south to escape from the arbitrariness of the Goloshchekin’s government, who took their livestock and it is in trouble in the sands of Turkmenistan. The head of the clan, Biy Pakhraddin, decides to return to the Karakalpak city of Kungrad in order to save people. And people, having left their yurts in the sand, are walking on foot back to an unfamiliar city, where an unknown fate awaits them. Pakhraddin and his wife Syrga, having distributed the last pieces of bread to the children, send them to the city, and they die themselves of hunger in the sand.
