May. 14,2022In the mid seventies, Italian tennis players Panatta, Barazzutti, Bertolucci and Zugarelli and team captain Pietrangeli go on to win the first, and to this day only, Davis Cup for Italy.

1976, Davis Cup final. The champions Panatta, Barazzutti, Bertolucci and Zugarelli, captained by Pietrangeli, will leave for Pinochet's Chile.
Panatta wins in Rome and Roland Garros in '76. The following year Davis' Italy won against Spain. Monica Giorgi recounts an episode that occurred in apartheid South Africa.
The formative years in Formia. Panatta conquers the Italian record and makes friends with Zugarelli, who makes his way in America. A complicated trip takes place in Sydney in '77.
In '78 Pietrangeli was dismissed. The team lost in Hungary under the leadership of Bergamo, who however tragically died before the USA final against McEnroe and Gerulaitis.
