So much average
Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Reading all these shameful one star reviews I was expecting a truly terrible film with bad acting and dialogue and a confusing ridiculous story line. Well I was shocked at how it wasn't bad in any area. This was a very enjoyable lighthearted film trying to catpture a little of the style and spirit of the original 60's series. Maybe people were expecting a Christopher Nolan type film that takes itself overly serious but I'm very glad that wasn't this film. This film was fun and entertaining and the IMDb rating is a disgrace. Watch some other films with that kind of low rating and you'll soon see the difference between a bad film and this. 8/10
I can not believe that Warner Brothers would have made this film if they had read the screenplay. I also think that Halle Berry must not have read it as well. Sharon Stone most likely read this but she will show up for the opening of an envelope. "Catwoman" is the story of shy, sensitive artist Patience Philips (Halle Berry), a woman who can't seem to stop apologizing for her own existence. She works as a graphic designer for Hedare Beauty, a mammoth cosmetics company on the verge of releasing a revolutionary anti- aging product. When Patience inadvertently happens upon a dark secret her employer is hiding, she finds herself in the middle of a corporate conspiracy. What happens next changes Patience forever. Trust me this is not only boring but stupid. Halle really can not pull the role. Sharon Stone is just mugging for the camera. I have no idea why Warner Brothers made "Pitof"the director. Trust me this film is so bad that nobody has ever let him direct anything again. That includes "Traffic".
When I first watched the movie, it is literally so bad I couldn't even get through the first 5 minutes because of how terrible it is.Halle Berry is a great actress who is very talented and has been acting since the late 80's, but in my opinion she does a awful job playing as Catwoman. Why didn't the writers just use the name Selina Kyle instead of Patience Philips. The name Patience Philips sounds more a name someone would use for a romantic comedy movie, no it is a superhero movie. And it's pretty dumb how the bad guy of the movie played by Sharon Stone, it's such a stupid plan that the had to use it twice and make the big twist sound like it is confusing how the movie tries to act like it wasn't shown before. And the evil plan has to do with makeup that is a pretty dumb supervillan idea in a superhero movie. And the part where Patience smells catnip is one of the most cringiest scene's I have ever scene in a superhero movie, or any movie in particular.Halle Berry does a way better playing as Storm than Catwoman.Thank goodness there was never a sequel to the movie because it is one of the worst movies and comic-book movies of all time.
I think Michelle Pfeiffer played a better Catwoman. The big problem with this movie is its goal of emphasizing how supposedly sexy Halle Berry is. Michelle did it cooler, more subtle. She didn't go into its making, thinking, "Ok, I have got to put on a show for the world just how amazingly sexy I am." Halle's a pretty girl but doesn't strike me as exceptionally "sexy". Especially at the end of this one, with the way she walks away and cracks her whip, I think the movie got carried away with the whole "sexy" thing.
